TOWN has been blighted by 'undistinguished' developments for too long, according to John McCormack, whose book, The Guernsey House, is the definitive work on older houses in the island.

After Environment scuppered plans to build a four-storey block of flats in Coupee Lane, Mr McCormack, who owns 7, 9, and 11 Cliff Street, hit out at the number of modern developments.
