AN AIRCRAFT which was damaged after a freight lorry crashed into its wing has been repaired.

The cargo plane, operated by Atlantic Airlines, was fixed yesterday and is due to fly out today.

It had to have part of the wing, known as the aileron, replaced. It is not yet known how much the repairs will cost.

The incident happened early on Monday during ground handling. An Airport Services van became wedged underneath the port wing of the aircraft.

Airport Services director Gary Robilliard said engineers had been on site yesterday morning to remove the vehicle and repair the plane.
