A RESTAURANT will be created above The Rockmount as part of major investment at the popular Cobo venue.

Owners Randalls of Guernsey yesterday announced the plans for the new 'comfortable high end' facility above the pub.

However, the brewery insists that the existing ground floor will remain largely the same, but with enhanced features including front sliding doors to take advantage of the views.

The Rockmount will be run by a new management team, yet to be appointed, taking over from David Nussbaumer, who will lose his lease on the venue at the end of the year.

Announcing the plans, Randalls managing director Ian Rogers said: 'We know how much people love The Rockmount and we didn't want to lose what makes it such a special place.'
