A REPRIMANDED deputy will fight on to see changes made to Accident and Emergency.

Deputy Mike Hadley was formally censured by the Bailiff yesterday after failing to convince enough of his States colleagues that he should not be punished for releasing a report to deputies that was critical of the emergency department.

Speaking after the vote, which was 26-19 in favour of a reprimand with two abstentions, Deputy Hadley vowed to keep pushing for proposals contained in the leaked report to be implemented.

The deputy Housing minister was disappointed with the decision but pleased he had been able to convince so many members not to support Code of Conduct Panel's recommendation, given the 'block vote' of members of Policy Council and HSSD.

He would not now lose heart in the issue, he said.
