CONSULTANT orthopaedic surgeon David Pring has stepped down from his role and will be leaving the island, the Medical Specialist Group has confirmed.

It said Mr Pring, pictured, who has been practising in Guernsey for more than 20 years, has left in order to 'pursue new projects'.

The surgeon had been on unplanned extended leave for more than three months.

The MSG said it had recruited a locum to cover Mr Pring's workload while it recruited a new colleague to join the remaining two orthopaedic surgeons, Chris Joslin and Ranjan Vhadra.
