GUERNSEY POST'S frustration at the lack of progress in pushing through changes in the States public sector pension scheme is shared by the deputy who is heading up the negotiations.

Deputy Allister Langlois, pictured, who chairs the States Pensions Consultative Committee, admitted that everybody's patience was running out.

In its annual report published yesterday, Guernsey Post's chairman Dudley Jehan said the board was 'profoundly disappointed' with how much progress had been made by the pension review group in establishing the framework for change.

'I have read Mr Jehan's comments and I can assure you the Policy Council is as frustrated as he is about the length of time it's taken,' Deputy Langlois said.

'Certainly patience is running out on everybody's part but we are heading in the right direction and moving forward.'
