Manhunt on for bare-chested burglar

POLICE are hunting a man who burgled a St Martin's home in the early hours of this morning.

Officers later spotted the man. described as tall with fair hair, in St Peter Port. They chased him but he escaped.

When last seen, the man was wearing white trainers and jeans - but was bare-chested.

He broke into the Route des Cornus property at about 1am this morning. The intruder was disturbed by the occupant but escaped from the scene on a pedal bike.

He was later seen by police officers in the area of Ville Au Roi, St Peter Port but attempts made to detain him failed.

Police are anxious to trace this individual and would appreciate the public's assistance.
