FINANCIAL penalties against CT Plus for poor bus services have been reinvested in the company, the States was told yesterday.

Environment minister Roger Domaille made the revelation as he faced a series of questions, led by Deputy Mary Lowe, about the service and its future.

Deputy Domaille said that the service credits deducted from the monthly invoices of CT Plus were not ring-fenced for the buses. However, to date the department has been able to reinvest credits in the bus service to improve it, he said.

Deputy Lowe was critical of that. 'Does the minister agree that by giving money back to CT Plus it looks like it is rewarding bad service?' asked Deputy Lowe.

Deputy Domaille denied this. The money was primarily used to improve the service to Perelle, he said.
