ENVIRONMENT has today announced the new agreed winter bus timetable.

Following a period of consultation after operator CT Plus announced its preferred timetable, the department has now confirmed its exact details.

The new timetable will begin on Monday 7 October.

Environment said it addresses 'the majority' of issues raised during the consultation process.

It listed 11 key changes to the timetable put forward by CT Plus, including:

- The retention and extension of the current Route 91 (and former Route 111) to provide a regular (two-hourly) service around the island

- The re-timing of certain (am) peak services into St. Peter Port, particularly on the routes 11, 61, 71 and 81, to ensure that these and subsequent services run to timetable, thereby providing greater certainty for college students and commuters using these services

Full details of the agreed timetable will be published on www.buses.gg later today. Environment has not changed the current fare structure but is going to review the matter ahead of next year's proposed summer timetable changes.
