FAMILIES have the chance to own Castle Cornet, Victor Hugo’s House and even the Little Chapel now that Bailiwick of Guernsey Monopoly has gone on sale.

The game, featuring 22 Bailiwick landmarks, was officially launched yesterday by winningmoves.co.uk, which produced the game under licence from Hasbro.

A 5ft by 5ft replica of the board revealed Castle Cornet has taken the prestige site of Mayfair, with the home of renowned French writer Victor Hugo, Hauteville House, taking the second most expensive property on the board occupied on the original by Park Lane.

A competition earlier this year asked islanders to decide what should be included on the popular trading game board.

Publicist Graham Barnes said without the public there would be no board.

Devil's Advocate

Castle Cornet instead of Mayfair? Surely it should have been Belvedere house or some other nice residential property or street?

Beanjar

I don't get it, how can you build houses and hotels on Castle Cornet and Hauteville House?

A Chap

I do hope the "Cow's Horn" features.

argus

I do hope they have a sense of fun with the Chance cards..

"Upset SEM - buy a famous £9.95 carvery - or be featured in the next issue of the SNL"

(I was disappointed not to find that a certain edifice on Brecqhou is not featured.)

As usual, a poorly researched article. "... occupied on the original by Park Lane".

The original version, of course, was American. The board locations were places in Atlantic City, the most desired being 'Boardwalk'.

BadDonkey

I nearly piddled myself when I saw this.

"Guernsey IS a Monopoly" !!!!!!

Gsy Girl

That'll do Donkey, that'll do

PLP

When I read the headline I thought the States were flogging Aurigny.

This is the only way I'm going to be able to afford a piece of Gsy
