ST MARTIN’S Primary School has achieved an excellent rating in all areas of its validation report.

Education Department director Alan Brown said it was a wonderful achievement for the parish school.

‘To be awarded an excellent rating in all areas that are inspected is unprecedented and does not happen without a school having a clear sense of direction and great role models to lead the way,’ he said.

‘The department is delighted with the exceptional validation report for St Martin’s Primary School, which is a testament to the hard work, skill and dedication of the head teacher Mrs Mason and her staff.’

Cate Mason, who has led the school for the last eight years, said it was team effort that had led to the school doing so well.

‘I feel very proud,’ she said.

The school scored excellent in six of the eight areas in its last report in 2009.

Excellent news. Congratulations to Mrs Mason and all the staff and children.

Grumpy teacher

Here is a good news story from a school. Why haven't there been any comments about it? The other education story running has had at least a dozen contributions since this story went live.

For the record, I have no connection with St Martin's School but they have all done a wonderful job - well done!

Congratulations Mrs. Mason.

I just hope Sillars doesn't close your school down. St. Martins is a lovely school.

Yet again the guernsey public demonstrating they are only interested in moaning about the education system rather than celebrating it - if this had been a poor report how many comments would have been posted by now or in reported in the GP?
