New States chief exec will take up post in January

PAUL Whitfield will take up the post of States chief executive on 6 January.

PAUL Whitfield, pictured, will take up the post of States chief executive on 6 January.

He will be supported by the current chief executive, Mike Brown, during a transition period early in the year.

Mr Brown will primarily assist in covering senior civil service positions that are currently vacant – Policy chief officer and head of policy research.

Mr Whitfield is currently Home Department chief officer,

When he moves, his deputy, Mark Lempriere, will act as chief officer until a permanent appointment is made.

i do hope he can sort out the top heavy civil service but alas i think he will have an uphill struggle and just be another brick in the wall.prove me wrong please it will not be as easy as combining to police and customs.
