A RECORD crowd is believed to have turned up to the 14th annual Boxing Day Dip at Cobo.

Organiser Dave Chester estimated nearly 600 people took part in the event, which regularly raises more than £5,000 for the Guernsey Cheshire Home.

‘It’s absolutely amazing – the event seems to grow exponentially,’ said Mr Chester, who also took part in the dip.

‘People seem to have enjoyed themselves. There is a wonderful community sprit about the whole thing.’

This year the theme for the event was rock stars.
