Businesses get ready to welcome in the new year

PUBS, bars and taxi drivers are gearing up for one of the busiest nights of the year.

Hundreds of people are expected to head out tomorrow evening to celebrate New Year's Eve and many establishments are already full.

Some taxi companies are getting booked up very quickly, while others have stopped taking reservations for after midnight so that they can operate on a more instant basis.

One pub that is fully booked for meals is The Queen's Hotel in St Martin's. It will be landlord Jonathan Jackson's first New Year's Eve at the establishment as he took over the premises in August.
