Some 111 visits are booked to the island from March until October – compared to 83 last year.

There are two days this year with visits to be confirmed and the Pacifica is due to bring in the highest number, carrying 3,780.

Last year there were approximately 113,000 passengers who arrived on the liners.

Harbour master Captain Chad Murray said, however, that some of them would have stayed on board their ship.

He also said that 103 visits were expected to visit Guernsey last year, but reasons for ships not doing so could be that the their schedule had changed or else be down to the weather.
