It follows a clash between the politicians and Deputy Mike Hadley in last week's States meeting, in which he was again accused of leaking confidential department minutes.

The South-east deputy, pictured, has now submitted a formal request for the minutes, discussing implementation of the bowel cancer screening programme, to be published.

'If any of the events in this week's States meeting should give rise to a complaint under the code of conduct, this will be a decision for the entire HSSD board to make and will be considered by the board at a later date,' said minister Mark Dorey.

The spat came during debate on an unsuccessful vote of no confidence in the HSSD board, led by Deputy Hadley.

Deputy Roger Perrot began reading the minutes of a department meeting, which had been supplied by Deputy Hadley.
