New chief minister chosen in two weeks

GUERNSEY'S next chief minister will be chosen in two weeks.

Deputies were told in the States this morning that they will vote in the new chief on 12 March.

States members can nominate colleagues from 9am tomorrow to 5pm on 6 March.

Deputy Peter Harwood, pictured, stepped down yesterday amid national media coverage about his former roles as commissioner of the financial sector regulator and director of the troubled Channel Islands Stock Exchange - positions he held simultaneously.
