FIGURES that led to a decision not to outsource the management of Beau Sejour are to be critically re-examined.

The Public Accounts Committee will be scrutinising the tendering process and bids made by companies wanting to run the leisure centre and facilities at Footes Lane.

Chairman Heidi Soulsby, pictured, said its investigation was already under way and it would publish its recommendations for the department later in the year.

She said it was not ruling out asking for a rethink.

Deputy Soulsby said the review would include looking at the reason why the original target of saving around £400,000 from outsourcing both sites could not be realised as part of the Financial Transformation Programme.

'They thought there would be lots of savings at the start and this didn't materialise,' she said. 'I think that would raise questions.'

'This was a major part of Culture and Leisure's FTP target.'
