Lord Faulks QC is the Ministry of Justice's Minister of State for Civil Justice and Legal Policy, and his responsibilities include the UK's relationship with the Crown Dependencies.

He took up the post in January, succeeding Lord McNally, and this was the first meeting he had held with Guernsey.

Deputy Le Tocq, pictured, said it was important to meet Lord Faulks relatively early in his tenure as Minister of State.

'His responsibility for the UK's relationship with the Crown Dependencies means that we need to explain our priorities and issues to him so that he can assist where possible,' he said.

'We also can better understand the UK's priorities and issues through establishing a strong relationship with him.
