No objections were made to the project and only architect Andrew Male addressed the political board at Beau Sejour.

Minor concerns about parking provision were raised, but the politicians were all strongly in favour of the scheme.

Deputy Yvonne Burford said it was one of the best buildings she had seen during her two years serving on the board.

The extension – which will see a new wing added to the eastern side of the Les Gravees block – will include eight classrooms, an expanded canteen and new music department.

There will also be a glass entrance hall developed in the existing northern building and parking created on the site of the temporary buildings.
