The Airbus 318 landed at about 2.45pm and spent 45 minutes being taxied around before heading back to France.

'This a very good source of revenue for the airport,' Colin Le Ray, airport director, said.

Mr Le Ray believed the short trip was a 'positioning flight', which he explained would happen when an aircraft is being sold.
