Police checks are 'only way' to slow Courtil St Jacques traffic

MORE police speed checks are the only way to slow dangerous traffic, Courtil St Jacques residents have said a decade after speed humps were installed there.

They are being replaced at the moment in the busy road which links the top of the Rohais and the Green Lane.

But people who live there said humps did not solve the speeding problem.

Sam Gillott, 33, (pictured far right) has seven children and three step-children, who are aged between one and 16. She was concerned about their safety.

'People scream up and down the road,' she said.

'I don't think the speed bumps help as people speed over them. This place is a race track.'

She said the only way to solve the problem was to increase the number police speed checks.
