One-star takeaway owner puts blame on admin errors

A CHINESE takeaway has received the lowest score yet under the new 'scores on the doors' hygiene rating scheme.

Kwai's Chinese Takeaway on the Bridge was handed just one star out of five by environmental health officers.

One star means major improvement is needed at the establishment.

Owner Se Kei Chung insisted the low score was down to a lack of compliance with paperwork rather than more serious hygiene issues.

He said the paperwork had since been addressed and he hoped to get an improved star rating at a revisit.

'It was not a hygiene issue, it was the administration, particularly not doing the manual properly,' he said.
