While the St Peter Port road is a 25mph zone some have witnessed vehicles driving at up to 40mph while on and off the pavement.

Ryan Fallaize, 30, has lived at the top of the road for the past year-and-a-half.

'I always see cars speeding up the road and you can hear how fast they are going by the noise of their engines.

'When you see them going that fast and once they have mounted the pavement, it is just crazy. I think something needs to be done about it.

'I have seen police cars and officers on foot patrol but not as much as there should be.'
