Deputy Stewart said that the dawning of digital currency was already being considered in new legislation being drawn up locally, namely the payment services providers legislation.
He gave the assurances after a group of Isle of Man businesses launched an incubator for digital currency start-ups, following its government's announcement that it would seek to regulate digital currencies in a way that was favourable for companies working with the technology.
