Commerce and Employment has revealed the cost of recruiting experts from the UK to assess the quality of the broadband services as part of a secret probe that was carried out without the knowledge of providers JT and Sure.

While Sure is remaining tightlipped until the findings are released, JT was among those to raise concerns over the small sample size and different factors that could influence the results.

The three-month study was completed by Actual Experience, which carried out the same task for UK regulator Ofcom and is currently compiling the data.
