The States-owned airline said it would discuss pricing strategy and give an update on its plans.

'We are always interested in hearing the opinions of our customers on any of our policies and welcome contributions made by local business organisations although we have not been approached by other groups on this subject,' commercial director, Malcolm Coupar said.

'Aurigny did have an earlier meeting with Chamber set up but this was cancelled by them.

'Unfortunately, they wrote their letter to the Guernsey Press before we had a chance to sit down and talk through the issues.'

In the letter, Chamber president Tony Rowbotham, pictured, revealed the group would be doing its own research over the coming months in conjunction with both the Guernsey International Business Association and the Confederation of Guernsey Industry.

It will focus around seat availability and pricing.

He said those seats available at peak times were regularly priced between £150 and £202 each way.
