Samantha Bull, 31, admitted two counts of perjury – lying under oath in court – and one of wasting 46.75 hours of police time when she appeared in the Royal Court.

She was sentenced to a total of 240 hours of community service.

Her advocate, Rachel Eeles, said she had been diagnosed by a psychiatrist as suffering from Munchausen syndrome, a disorder or mental illness whereby a person acts as if he or she has a physical or mental disorder when in fact they have caused the symptoms themselves.

The court heard she bought a pay-as-you-go phone which she used to send sadistic texts to herself, claiming they were from the man.

She also admitted writing a note which she said somebody had placed on her scooter.
