Police say crystal meth man 'always going to be caught'

GUERNSEY'S version of Breaking Bad character Walter White 'would always have been caught', one of his investigators has said after the drug manufacturer was jailed for nine years.

Detective Sergeant Jason Savident issued the warning to anyone considering following in the footsteps of 35-year-old Wesley Guilbert in producing crystal meth, the Class A drug methylamphetamine.

'It always would have been stopped. No way can you produce a drug as a hobby over a significant period of time without being prosecuted in Guernsey.

'If you think you can drive out somewhere like in Breaking Bad and think it's a good money-spinning way of enhancing your lifestyle, then you are very misguided.'
