Ticket sales may be limited for big shows

CULTURE and Leisure says lessons have been learnt following controversy over ticket-touting and bulk-buying for John Bishop's show earlier this week.

The minister and deputy minister said that whilst it was a difficult issue to address, they would speak to promoters over ticket sales in the future.

Deputy minister Dave Inglis said, as providers of the facility, they did not have full control over ticket distributions, and it was down to the promoters.

'Of course, they wanted to sell all the tickets and they weren't restricted,' he said. 'But it has certainly made us aware and we should probably consider more control on the amount of tickets people can buy at future events. Lessons have been learnt.'

He suggested a limit could be put on the amount of tickets sold to any one person.
