Commerce and Employment yesterday confirmed it had approved the Milk Price Review Panel's recommendation to increase the price, which will come into effect on 5 October.
From that date, the fixed price for a litre pack of Guernsey Dairy milk will be £1.12 in shops and on doorsteps.
The new retail prices for milk sold locally will become:
n Skimmed, semi-skimmed and full cream litre packs – £1.12
n Half litres (types as above) – 64p
n Organic milk (half-litres) – 82p
The department said all price increases were well below RPI changes over the last 12 months.
