Church of England 'will not always be official faith'
GUERNSEY will one day disestablish the Church of England as its official faith, the chairman of the Parochial and Ecclesiastical Rates Review Committee believes.

John Gollop said Perrc's new draft legislation, which is out to consultation, did not go as far as that.
However, he believed it was just postponing a 'meatier' issue that will be debated in the future.
The new, confidential, and still being amended, legislation has come under fire from some parishes as church officials could be allowed to block ratepayers from selling rectories.
It is feared that the States could be presented with a watered-down version of proposals approved in 2012.
