Create, the designers of the memorial, held a private reception last night (2 Sept) at Castle Cornet, to celebrate the next stage of the historic project along with their 10-year anniversary.

The monument will commemorate the 141 allied aircrew who died around the Bailiwick during the Second World War.

AAM committee member, Simon Hamon, said he was 'delighted' the decision had been reached.

'The men for whom the memorial is being built will finally receive the recognition they so richly deserve.'
