Deputy Gavin St Pier was responding to islanders' questions about the 2015 Budget during a live Guernsey Press web chat yesterday.

When asked if government was going to send a clear message that it had stopped tinkering with corporate tax rates, he responded: 'It would be foolhardy for any government to rule out any changes in its tax system at any point in the future.

'The international tax scene is a fast-moving one – and indeed it has changed a lot since zero-10 was approved in 2006.

He added a responsible government had to keep a lookout for threats and changes.
