The £50m. vessel was bought after the ferry operator secured a long-term deal with Guernsey and Jersey, running from 2018 to 2028, allowing it to commit the substantial sum of money to replace two of its ageing wavepiercers.

Condor Rapide will continue to run from the Channel Islands to France.

Southampton-based marine interior refurbishment specialist Trimline has won the contract to fit out the high-speed passenger and car ferry.

A new galley is to be designed and installed which complements the Condor colour scheme. The bar, bureau de change, children's area and duty free shop are all to undergo transformations.
