Chris Le Carpentier, 35, had the watch, which belonged to his late brother, Jonathan, stolen from his home nearly three weeks ago.

After an initial public appeal failed to get the highly sentimental item back, he is now offering the money for any information which leads to the arrest and successful prosecution of whoever took it.

With any luck this should uncover the culprit, he said.

'I think with Christmas coming up, well, I do not want to stereotype people, but the type of people that do this sort of thing, I am hoping that their mates will stitch them up and report them.

'I do not want monetary value for the watch, I want the watch back.'
