University project runs in funding problem

PLANS for a university in Guernsey are in difficulty because of a lack of funding.

Chief Minister Jonathan Le Tocq updated the States this morning on the private sector project which the Policy Council had been supporting.

'As the urgency for this initiative has not been forthcoming due to the lack of private sector funding precious scarce staff resources have not been prioritised to complete the outstanding resolutions,' he said.

The Policy Council decided the project would be an unproductive use of staff time at the moment.
