Kevin Mroch, pictured, was stopped by police officers, who were assisting in a Guernsey Border Agency operation, on 22 August after they spotted him acting suspiciously at Pitronnerie Road Industrial Estate.

After following and arresting Mroch, they found a brown parcel containing 497.6g of herbal cannabis dumped in a nearby hedge.

The drugs had a local street value of between £9,960 and £12,450.

The package had been imported through the postal system and Judge Russell Finch said that was an aggravating factor.
