Guernsey Police confirmed three men were arrested yesterday morning as families woke to find a string of vulgar messages spray-painted onto the side of houses, garden walls and road signs on Route des Capelles, Les Osmonds Lane and Victoria Avenue.

Officers counted 20 different areas of vandalism.

One of the homes targeted was that of Jason Robilliard, 44, who has lived on Route des Capelles for 12 years.

'I'm just shocked and horrified that this has happened just two days before Christmas,' he said.

'I've had to take today off work to get it sorted out because I just can't leave words like that on my wall.'

He added that a painter and decorator had kindly agreed to remove the graffiti on their day off.

'It's heartbreaking for this to happen so close to Christmas,' said Mr Robilliard.

'I'm just thankful the schools are closed otherwise I would have hundreds of kids walking past seeing the worst words you can think of.'
