Craig Dodd, 30, pictured left, was handed the sentence when he appeared in the Royal Court today.

Oliver Butler, 35, pictured right, who was also involved in the importation of the cannabis resin, was sentenced to six years in prison.

Labelled by the prosecution as 'old fashioned cases of drug smuggling', Dodd had used a jet-ski to bring in £150,000-worth of heroin in February 2013 while both men used a rib to transport £191,000-worth of cannabis resin into the island in September that same year.

More details in tomorrow's press.
