Like-for-like bus switch is the preferred option
INSTEAD of mini-buses, a near like-for-like option looks set to make up Guernsey's new bus fleet, Environment has said.

Minister Yvonne Burford and chief officer Steve Smith have explained the likely options for the island's ageing fleet of 41 government-owned buses.
Instead of sweeping changes, initially a third of the buses will be replaced, following tenders and the States capital prioritisation process, which means they might not hit roads until the second year of the contract.
In terms of the type of buses Guernsey would expect to see, Mr Smith said: 'We would still have to go through the tender process and look at the options, but there is a very strong argument for close to a like-for-like replacement.'
