The Guernsey Border Agency has said that neither the price of passports, nor the timescale in which standard-process ones are delivered to islanders, will change as a result of the new arrangements.

However, anyone wanting to pay more for an express service will now have to wait longer.

The new printing arrangements are the culmination of a UK project which began in 2010 and was driven by HM Passport Office concerns about the practice of shipping blank passport books to British embassies and diplomatic posts around the world.

These changes have also affected the other Crown Dependencies and Gibraltar.
