Unattended frying pan fills property with smoke

A FRYING pan left unattended caught fire in the early hours of Saturday morning, leaving one person needing hospital treatment.

Guernsey Fire and Rescue Service received a call about the smoke, coming from a house in the Bas Courtil estate, at 3.25am.

Duty officer Steve Wilkes said it responded immediately.

'We dispatched two tenders with nine personal.

'On attendance we found a smoke-logged property with one female inside, and the fire was confined to a pan on a cooker.
