ANTI-SOCIAL behaviour and social media slurs have led a local children's activity area to ban St Sampson's High pupils during their break times.

The Jungle House, at Oatlands, announced the decision on Facebook on Saturday, adding that it would be contacting the school.

In a statement given to the Guernsey Press, it said it had made robust efforts to 'foster and maintain positive relationships' with all of its customers with a significant degree of success.

'This has entailed working closely with various establishments including schools and the police in dealing with minor infractions or issues of anti-social behaviour,' it said.

'Previous measures have included barring troublesome individuals from the premises.

'Unfortunately, these measures have had limited success and at the end of last week there was a deliberate attempt to damage both the reputation and the business of the Jungle House by a number of students from a local school via social media.

'We will be raising this directly with the school concerned.'
