A DRAGON has made the leap across the Channel to star in Gadoc's sell-out Easter production, Shrek the Musical, which sees 'the West End come to Guernsey', according to the show's director.

The musical has played on Broadway, the West End, and, from Saturday, Guernsey residents will have the opportunity to indulge in the family favourite.

Director Lisa Johnston said islanders deserved to see a high quality show without having to travel to the UK.

'Shrek sees Gadoc really going the extra mile,' she said. 'It's our most extravagant show to date and we hope everyone enjoys it – the dragon is beautiful. I like to think we are bringing the West End to Guernsey.'

Tickets are all gone and Mrs Johnston said the show would not disappoint.

'The dancing, singing and costumes and absolutely phenomenal and there is something for everyone. We have 30 cast members, 40 people helping backstage and a band of 15 accompanying each show, so it's a huge production.'
