Earlier this morning 10 officers executed a search warrant at Eagle Medical Practice and a private residential address.

The investigation began when concern was raised to Health and Social Services about the death of a patient who had been under the care of the practice.

Guernsey Police was then notified after an internal investigation by the department identified three other deaths that were of concern.

'Following our initial investigation a doctor was excluded from treating patients at the Mignot Memorial Hospital and the General Medical Council was informed. The GMC was also notified that the matter is now the subject of a police investigation,' said HSSD chief officer Carol Tozer.

'The GMC has confirmed that the doctor's practice is already under restrictions and he is being investigated.'

HSSD urged anyone who was worried or had questions about ongoing healthcare to call the Mignot Memorial Hospital on 822 822.
