The multiple choice exam, which is usually taken before the practical driving test, was introduced to Guernsey in 2003 with around 600 possible questions.

But now more than 70 have been added to make the test more relevant for local drivers.

Traffic services officer Stuart Ogier said that while Guernsey did adopt UK driving laws the island has some of its own, which needed to be addressed.

Examples of questions:

You are driving/riding along and you come across a shepherd herding sheep and he asks you to stop. What should you do?

Answer: Slow down, stop and turn your engine off.

When can you wait in a box junction?

Answer: When waiting to turn right.

Answer: No parking at any time.

If you park your vehicle alongside a dropped kerb who will you be causing a problem for?

Answer: Mobility scooters, wheelchair users and people using a wheeled walking aid.
