John Langlois, chairman of the company which owns the hotel, confirmed it had been the affected establishment.

Guests have been put up in other establishments for the past four days.

It had been hoped that the virus would be under control by today, however, two new cases were confirmed last night.

All private events for the week have been cancelled and the restaurant is now closed.

Mr Langlois said staff and well guests had left the building, which would be cleaned by a specialist company to a clinical standard.

Those suffering from the illness, which lasts around 24-hours, would remain in their rooms, in isolation, with food delivered to them until they felt better.

Mr Langlois was very proud of how quickly and efficiently his staff responded after roughly 20 cases of the highly contagious bug were reported over the weekend.
