Car park 'caps' go following complaints

CAPS on pillars at the entrances of a Cobo car park have been taken down due to concerns that they would put people off parking there.

They were put on the pillars at the car park, in front of Les Residences, the development of the site of the former Hotel Les Carterets, earlier in the month.

Garenne Group chief executive Andy Hall said the caps had been taken down yesterday .

They were putting people off parking for fear of damaging their vehicles.

He said it had done a lot of work on the car park and still intended for it to be used by the public.

'A lot of vans were being left in there for days and there was less parking.' Mr Hall said that in an attempt to encourage cars to park there it had installed the caps.

He met Castel Douzaine on Friday after concerns were raised.
