The Environment Department has recommended that a project to demolish Uplands in St Jacques should get the go-ahead, which would make way for five one-bedroom flats and two one-bedroom homes.

This is despite a number of complaints from nearby residents and serious concerns from the parish douzaine about over-development and the safety of the access.

A decision will be made at an open planning meeting this morning.
